We are looking for an experienced Tax Manager to join our team. The Tax Manager will manage the preparation and workflow of federal and state tax returns to ensure accurate and timely completion for the clients we serve. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, a problem solver, able to prioritize projects and meet tight deadlines, possess initiative, strong leadership, and management skills, excellent organizational, time management, and written and oral communication skills, and be able to interact with co-workers and clients, while managing expectations and providing excellent customer service.

JOB DUTIES include but not limited to

• Plan and manage workflows to ensure timely completion of returns
• Provide tax planning and consulting services to our clients
• Work with federal and state taxing authorities to resolve client tax issues
• Research and provide solutions for complex tax issues
• Identify and mitigate tax risks
• Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices
• Manage and develop staff
• Build, grow, and maintain client relationships, including identifying value-added services offered
• Special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or taxation
• Certified Public Accountant (license must be current)
• Public Accounting Experience
• 5 - 7 years of experience preparing and reviewing tax returns of varying complexity
• Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
• Working knowledge of federal and state tax laws
• Ability to work with complex tax issues
• Experience in working with Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities
• Experience with multi state taxation and nexus issues
• Experience in managing and developing staff
• Proficient with Pro Series, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe
