CPA licensure from a US state or territory. Other professional certifications desirable.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Teach nine hours of accounting per semester; maintain office hours, meet with students as appropriate. Conduct research with publication in quality journals as the target; perform service to the University, college, and department as required by policy and as directed. Maintain a collegial atmosphere within the college and department; participate in assigned committee activities and maintain active contact with professional organizations.

Initial meetings will be held in the Interview Hall at the AAA Annual Meeting in Washington DC, from August 10 – August 13, 2024.
Sam Houston State University has approximately 20,000 students and is located in picturesque Huntsville, Texas, approximately 70 miles north of downtown Houston, with easy interstate highway access to Houston and Bush Intercontinental Airport. The College is AACSB accredited and has approximately 3,500 majors. The Department of Accounting has approximately 13 tenured/tenure-track faculty.
Educational Requirements for the Position (Faculty Positions Only):
Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting from an AACSB accredited University. ABDs in advanced stage of completion will be considered.
Experience Required for the Position (Faculty Positions Only):
University level teaching experience desirable; professional accounting experience highly desirable. Working knowledge of, and experience with US GAAP is required.
